Lattice Regularization of the Chiral Schwinger Model

چکیده
We analyze the chiral Schwinger model on an infinite lattice using the continuum definition of the fermion determinant and a linear interpolation of the lattice gauge fields. For non-compact and Wilson formulation of the gauge field action it is proven that the effective lattice model is Osterwalder-Schrader positive, which is a sufficient condition for the reconstruction of a physical Hilbert space from the model defined on a Euclidean lattice. For the non-compact model we furthermore establish the existence of critical points where the corresponding continuum theory can be reconstructed. We show that the continuum limit for the two-point functions of field strength and chiral densities can be controlled analytically. The article ends with some remarks on fermionic observables. Interpolated Lattice Gauge Fields and Chiral Fermions in the Schwinger Model
The effective action induced by fermions in the chiral Schwinger model with charges (3,4,5) is investigated. Pauli-Villars regularization is combined with momentum cutoff for the evaluation of the fermion determinants on continuum gauge fields interpolated between lattice points. The convergence and gauge variance are studied numerically on gauge configurations taken from quenched updating.
متن کاملChiral Symmetry Restoration in the Schwinger Model with Domain Wall Fermions
Domain Wall Fermions utilize an extra space time dimension to provide a method for restoring the regularization induced chiral symmetry breaking in lattice vector gauge theories even at finite lattice spacing. The breaking is restored at an exponential rate as the size of the extra dimension increases. Before this method can be used in dynamical simulations of lattice QCD, the dependence of the...

متن کاملNon-locally Regularized Field-Antifield Quantization of the Chiral Schwinger Model
The non-local regularization is a powerfull method to regularize theories with an action that can be decomposed in a kinetic and an interacting part. Recently it was shown how to regularize the Batalin-Vilkovisky field-antifield formalism of quantization of gauge theories with the non-local regularization. We compute precisely the anomaly of the Chiral Schwinger model with this extended non-loc...
متن کاملKaplan-Narayanan-Neuberger lattice fermions pass a perturbative test.
We test perturbatively a recent scheme for implementing chiral fermions on the lattice, proposed by Kaplan and modified by Narayanan and Neuberger, using as our testing ground the chiral Schwinger model. The scheme is found to reproduce the desired form of the effective action, whose real part is gauge invariant and whose imaginary part gives the correct anomaly in the continuum limit, once tec...
